Tonight I Wish: for our anniversary

MUSIC:  Our wedding anniversary is coming up on December 23. Kathy and I were married in 1977 in front of the Christmas tree at my parents house. I’m hoping we have a few more anniversaries together. This year because of Kathy’s Huntington’s Disease we won’t be going out to dinner. But I’ll probably have something delivered. Tonight I Wish was written for one of our anniversaries some years back. It was during the part of our HD journey when the main symptom was fierce violent anger. I suspected it was HD but she couldn’t face discussing it. We are in a good place now, all in all, but this song is about patience for love.

This track has the wonderful voice and violin of Tracy Grammer on it. My friend Samuel Franklin Reynolds did the production and mixing. I played guitar and sang and provided the other instruments via midi and loops.

Any proceeds or tips from this song will benefit the good work of the Huntington’s Disease program at the University of Connecticut Health Center where my wife Kathy gets treatment and I get support. UConn is doing stem cell research and helping patients and families like ours. Huntington’s Disease is the genetic disease that took the life of Woody Guthrie. It is neurodegenerative disorder that causes problems with emotional control, memory and movement, and eventually leads to death.
