CAREGIVING: This was a really tough morning. Kathy is still zonked by whatever she has. I called and cancelled her physical therapy and the home health aide even though I could have used the help.
Kathy slept until around 9:30. I tried to give her a shower but she had absolutely no body strength to help move herself. She really couldn’t hold herself up on the shower bench but I got the basics done — hair and armpits. I wrestled her back into the transport chair and got some clothes on her and she fell back asleep on the couch. She woke up briefly and I got her to take some of her medicine. She slept some more then wanted to actually go back to bed.
I woke her up in the late afternoon, cooked her a grilled cheese and portobello sandwich and made her a smoothie. She seems to feel a little better and the doctor called that her lungs look fine but they said that she has gas. I knew that already.
