LIFE: Marty keeps telling me Spring is around the corner but, like his Kong toy, we aren’t sure which corner. We have had little teasers of warmth and I believe there are some daffodils trying to poke through the leaves that I never got around to raking. Last spring even though Kathy could no longer help, I still managed to get some things done. I had reserved a guy in town, Marty (no relation), to paint the outside of the house. To try to save some money I was supposed to do some of the prep work: sanding and replacing some rotten boards. Unfortunately, by the time I did most of that stuff, I was broke. Just buying tools and lumber and ‘stuff’ cleaned me out.
It was during that time that Google Maps decided to send their street view car to Hampden. Although we can’t find the airliner we can find my house when I was grinding, sanding and patching it up. I did paint the bare wood before the winter so it does look a lot better than it does on Google. Hopefully I can put a finish coat on it this year.
