Welcome

This isn’t my first blog. Kathy and I started one that was supposed to be a mixture of serious stuff plugging my graphic design and greeting card business; life in a small town; my folk music interests; and reports about our basset hound, Marty. But I get cold feet about mixing business with sarcasm and parody. The business blog has some humor in it but it is mainly a portfolio of pictures of what we do everyday.

I started using facebook as a blog but that doesn’t work unless the reader is up at the same time you say something. I created a FB group for anyone in or from or remotely interested in our town, Hampden, and that has been fun. I don’t have to do anything. Long time residents have been posting great photos of life here in the 50s and 60s. We post information about the annual town meeting or when they moved the old Simkin’s house from one part of town to the other.

So I thought I would give this a shot. I’ll try to write but I don’t consider myself a writer. My graphics clients probably don’t either. What I write, they rewrite. But between us it comes out pretty decent. Since I’m a songwriter I tend to refudiate punctuation and grammar.

I’m moderate on most things. I tend to see things more than one way. I have opinions, but I’m flexible. I see parts that work and parts that don’t.  I usually vote democratic except when I don’t. But I always vote. So I am dedicated to being wishy-washy except when it comes to wing-nuts. I like the hardware but not the people.
