These are a few upcoming music events. Some are definite. Some are definite maybes! Some are likely. If the weather is bad I might not go to some of the open mics, but these are on my radar. I am trying to find venues to perform at so I do stupid things like driving to Cambridge to sing two songs at 10 pm. Luckily I’m still young. Oh. wait….

Saturday, Dec.3 | Song and Story Swap – Pioneer Valley Folklore – Sheryl Stanton feature
This is a monthly event for all levels. We sit in a circle and go around telling a story of singing a song. Sheryl is a wonderful singer and friend. I am sure the ‘theme “Joy and despair” was picked before the election.
Monday, Dec. 5 | Lizard Lounge Open-Mic Challenge – Cambridge, MA (IMBC)
Add this to the ‘I must be crazy,’ category (IMBC). The Lizard Lounge Open Mic Challenge is a weekly open mic contest. Think of it as a folk slam. I signed up for a 10 pm slot. Everyone does two songs and a judge picks finalists. I think there’s a runoff.

Tuesday, Dec. 20 | The Burren Open Mic – Somerville MA
I signed up for a slot around 8:30PM. Another (IMBC) event.
